Regina & Greg’s Adventurous Indian Peaks Wilderness Elopement
On a crisp autumn morning near Brainard Lake Recreation Area, I met Regina and Greg, who had driven all the way from Alaska for their Indian Peaks Wilderness elopement. With coffee in hand and custom-made donuts (shaped like them!) in tow, their excitement was contagious.
We started by capturing sweet moments around their camper before heading into the stunning Indian Peaks Wilderness. Greg, who spends part of the year in Alaska, wanted a spot as vast and secluded as the backcountry he knows so well. When we reached the tree line, Greg’s words—“This reminds me so much of the backcountry of Alaska”— was all I needed to confirm I did my part in finding an epic spot. Along the way, we paused to take in the views and even spotted a moose.
The altitude posed a challenge when Regina developed a headache, so we decided to descend to a lower elevation. Thankfully, she felt better almost immediately, and the overcast sky provided perfect, soft lighting. Their first look was unforgettable—their love shone through every smile and laugh.
For the ceremony, they decided who would say their vows first with a game of rock-paper-scissors. As they poured their hearts out, emotions ran high, and even I couldn’t hold back tears. They sealed their union with a champagne toast, ready to begin their next chapter together. Their day was nothing short of magical, leaving a trail of cherished memories in the breathtaking wilderness.
