Rayna & Travis’ Myrtle Falls Wedding

Rayna and Travis walking through the Paradise meadows with Mount Rainier rising behind them on their wedding day

Mount Rainier was already a special place for Rayna and Travis before they decided to get married there. They had visited Paradise together the summer before and spent time exploring the area around Myrtle Falls. During that trip, they found a spot just beyond the falls that stuck with them. When they started planning their wedding, they knew they wanted to come back. Keeping things small was important too.

They wanted the day focused on their marriage, their faith, and the people closest to them rather than planning a large traditional wedding. Rayna got ready at Paradise Inn while Travis got ready separately in Ashford. Afterward, we headed into the Paradise meadows and made our way toward Myrtle Falls, where they exchanged handwritten vows near the spot they had found together on their previous trip.

The mountain showed off for us that morning. Rainier stayed in view as we walked through the meadows, crossed Edith Creek and explored around Myrtle Falls. Wildflowers covered the hillsides and gave us one of those summer mornings at Paradise that you hope for when planning a wedding here. We didn’t have to travel far to get a ton of variety either. Around Paradise we moved between wildflower meadows, Edith Creek, Myrtle Falls and open views of Rainier before eventually heading down to Reflection Lakes.

After their ceremony, Rayna and Travis spent some time with their family before we made our way to Reflection Lakes for a few more photos with the mountain behind them. Rayna and Travis got to come back to a mountain that already held memories for them and leave with a pretty significant new one. They got married here.

If you’re thinking about doing the same, my Mount Rainier National Park Elopement Guide goes deeper into locations, permits, timing, and what you should know before planning a wedding here.
