Jane & Jonah’s Fall Ouray Elopement
Jane and Jonah’s fall elopement in Ouray was a mix of adventure, love, and just the right amount of spooky vibes. As huge horror movie fans, they planned a day with personal touches like all-black outfits and maroon accents. When they shared their vision, I immediately thought of Crystal Lake—yes, the one from Friday the 13th. They loved the idea and even brought a Jason mask for some fun photos later in the day.
Before the ceremony, we did a first look, and Jonah’s reaction was everything. The moment he turned around and saw Jane, his face lit up with shock and excitement—it was pure love and joy, and such a special way to start the day. Their ceremony was laid-back and heartfelt, officiated by a close friend who added an extra layer of meaning to the experience. While couples can self-solemnize in Colorado, Jane and Jonah wanted to be intentional with their plans by having someone who knew them well lead their vows. It was the perfect personal touch for their day.
Afterward, we spent the afternoon and early evening exploring the trails, snapping creative photos, and laughing—a lot. Jane’s black dress and maroon bouquet popped beautifully against the fall colors, and Jonah’s all-black look tied it all together. And of course, the Jason mask made its appearance, adding a playful twist to their elopement story.I absolutely love when couples get creative and make their wedding day their own. Jane and Jonah’s mix of personality, love, and adventure made it a day to remember, and I’m so grateful to have been part of it.
